Terms & Conditions

1. Program Overview

The Sydney Bears Sponsor Referral Program (“Program”) allows eligible individuals to refer potential sponsors to the Sydney Bears Incorporated (“the Club”) and receive a reward where the referral results in a qualifying sponsorship agreement.

2. Eligibility

  • The Program is open to individuals aged 18 years or older.

  • Employees, contractors, players, and committee members of the Club may participate, provided any conflicts of interest are disclosed to the Club prior to participation.

  • The Club reserves the right to determine eligibility at its discretion.

3. Qualifying Referral

A referral will qualify where:

  • The referrer introduces a new sponsor to the Club; and

  • The sponsor has not previously been in active discussions or negotiations with the Club; and

  • The introduction is made directly to the Club via an approved method (email, form, or nominated contact); and

  • The referral is acknowledged by the Club prior to any commercial discussions progressing.

The Club retains sole discretion to determine whether a referral is valid and attributable to a referrer.

4. Qualifying Sponsorship

A referral will be deemed successful where:

  • The referred sponsor enters into a signed sponsorship agreement with the Club; and

  • The total value of the sponsorship agreement is AUD $5,000 or greater (excluding GST, unless otherwise specified); and

  • The Club has received the first payment (or full payment if applicable) under the agreement.

5. Referral Reward

  • For each successful qualifying sponsorship, the referrer will receive a $250 Sydney Bears gift card (or equivalent, as determined by the Club).

  • Rewards are issued within 30 days of receipt of the sponsor’s initial payment.

  • Rewards are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.

  • The Club reserves the right to substitute the reward with an alternative of equal value.

6. Multiple Referrals

  • Only one reward will be issued per qualifying sponsorship.

  • Where multiple individuals refer the same sponsor, the reward will be allocated to the individual who:

    • First submitted the referral in accordance with these Terms; and

    • Is recognised by the Club as the primary source of the introduction.

7. Exclusions

The following do not qualify:

  • Self-referrals or referrals involving entities the referrer owns or controls;

  • Sponsors already in active discussions with the Club prior to the referral;

  • Sponsorships below the minimum qualifying value;

  • Agreements that do not proceed to execution or payment;

  • Referrals that involve misleading, deceptive, or inappropriate conduct.

8. Conduct Requirements

Referrers must:

  • Act honestly and in good faith;

  • Not make misleading or unauthorised representations on behalf of the Club;

  • Not present themselves as an agent or representative of the Club unless expressly authorised;

  • Direct all commercial negotiations to the Club.

The Club reserves the right to disqualify any participant who breaches these requirements.

9. Disclosure

Referrers acknowledge that:

  • The Club may provide a benefit to individuals who introduce sponsors; and

  • This arrangement may be disclosed to prospective sponsors where required.

10. Taxation

  • Any tax implications arising from participation in the Program are the responsibility of the referrer.

  • Participants should seek independent financial advice where required.

11. Program Changes and Termination

  • The Club reserves the right to amend, suspend, or terminate the Program at any time.

  • Any changes will not affect rewards for referrals that have already met the qualifying criteria at the time of the change.

12. Liability

  • The Club is not liable for any loss, damage, or claim arising from participation in the Program.

  • All decisions made by the Club in relation to the Program are final.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
