Tommy Moncrieff is back and 'Ready to bring goals, hits, and nonstop pressure'
The Bing Lee Sydney Bears are pleased to announce the return of 24-year-old forward Thomas (Tommy) Moncrieff for the 2026 Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) season.
"I’m excited to be back and ready to bring goals, hits, and nonstop pressure," Moncrieff revealed. "I plan on playing fast, heavy, and making life tough for opponents."
A fan favourite, Moncrieff will play his seventh season with the club since making his debut in 2017. In 77 AIHL games, all with the Bears, Moncrieff has collected 31 points (13G, 18A).
"Fans will need to keep an eye out for #8 as it’s always guaranteed entertainment," Sydney Bears Director of Hockey Operations, Nathan Graham, said. "Tommy brings a strong physical edge and an ability to provide secondary scoring at this level, a versatile and valuable toolkit.
"Tommy is a tough matchup for opponents and never hesitates to stand up for teammates. He’s the classic example of the guy you love to have, but don’t want to play against."
Moncrieff has also performed at a high level outside of AIHL competition. In the East Coast Super League (ECSL), Moncrieff has made 100 appearances and earned 204 points (107G, 97A).
Additionally, Moncrieff has twice represented Australia at the U18 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championships.
"Sometimes we forget that Tommy is only 24," Graham continued. "To have six AIHL seasons of experience already is an impressive achievement, and we can’t wait for him to get the building rocking this year. It’s going to be fun."
