Bears Continue Youth Movement with Signing of Ruben Nalos

The Bing Lee Sydney Bears are pleased to announce the signing of 18-year-old forward Ruben Nalos for the 2026 Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) season.

Nalos is part of the next generation of Australian players continuing their development in North America. Most recently skating with the Elmira Jr. Aviators 18U AAA program, the right-shooting forward has continued to build his game against strong competition in the United States.

Prior to his time with Elmira, Nalos also developed within the New Jersey 87’s program and has consistently shown offensive upside throughout his junior career, including strong production in youth competition.

“I’m grateful to be a part of such an established organisation and I’m excited for what’s ahead,” Nalos said.

Sydney Bears Head of Hockey Operations Nathan Graham said the club is excited to add another young Australian prospect to its growing group of developing talent.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming Ruben once he finishes his commitments in the US,” Graham said.

“Ruben is another exciting talent with strong pedigree and we’re grateful that he’s chosen our organisation to aid with his development.”

Nalos is expected to join the Bears later in the year following the completion of his North American commitments, adding further depth and youth to the club’s roster.
